Weaver had applied for the job of Office Assistant, but didn’t quite have the computer skills that were needed. He was a great paper shredder, though. After watching him, we decided that he did have great potential as a Therapy Dog! He is in a training program and will be appearing at the office more often as he develops those skills. For now, he is available for hugs, kisses and lots of licks! Weaver LOVES children and is learning to patiently wait for pats and tummy rubs.
Weaver is a hypoallergenic 6-month old Goldendoodle puppy and lives with Kathy Alter. He has been blind since birth due to a hereditary condition known as Optic Nerve Hypoplasia, but that hasn’t stopped him from being adventurous and learning his way around! He knows exactly how to locate Joy and Katie, no matter where they are in the office. He wants to stop in the waiting room anytime he goes out for a walk. Weaver is being trained by Morgan Krug (Pawsitive Behavior Solutions). Once he begins his training in the therapy rooms and has your permission, Weaver will be able to remain in his corner and join the activity with commands from the therapist.
