Winter has arrived and snow is occasionally in the forecast. This is the perfect time to build a winter vocabulary with your children. Winter is the perfect time for snuggles on the sofa with a good book, but also for exploring the outdoors for things that tell us it is winter.
Here are a few of our favorite cold weather activities –
- Read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats
- Talk about COLD SNOW, HOT CHOCOLATE, and a WARM BATH.
- How many words can you think of that mean the same thing as cold?
- What things does your family like to do in the snow?
- Take pictures of your children outside pretending to make a snowman or pretending to make snow angels.
- Take pictures of your children in summer clothing and winter clothing. How are they different?
