We’re very proud to announce that The Stuttering Foundation has chosen our very own Joyanna Struzzieri to be one of only 20 speech language pathologists to attend an intensive workshop on stuttering therapy!
Joyanna Struzzieri M.S. CCC-SLP was selected along with 19 other speech-language pathologists worldwide to participate in The Stuttering Foundation’s The Eastern Workshop: Using Cognitive Approaches with People Who Stutter. This one-week course focused on providing participants with information on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy in relation to the assessment and treatment of stuttering. In addition, Joyanna in now equipped to deliver Palin PCIT (Parent-Child Interaction Therapy), which is an evidence-based therapy program for young children who stutter. This training enables Joyanna to provide a specialized, family-centered approach tailored to meet and develop every child’s unique communication needs. This program has shown significant benefits towards building confident communicators and increasing fluency.
